DESCRIPTION:Join the LAX Coastal Education Committee on the first Friday of every month to connect with principals\, teachers\, administrators\, non-profits\, and business leaders. This informational meeting gathers resources for our schools and provides speakers that offer low-cost\, free\, or relevant resources for our schools\, their students\, and parents.\n\n\n\nAt this month's Education Committee we will hear from Portal Schools. Portal Schools is an emerging network of micro-schools where students simultaneously attain a high school and college degree. Our school's campuses are shared with partnering corporations\, giving students the opportunity to dive into exciting\, hands-on internships\, and obtain a diverse range of invaluable learning experiences. We serve an intentionally diverse student population through a model that is student-centered\, competency-based and career focused. Portal Schools is opening doors to opportunity for all and empowering students to successfully launch into careers.\n\n\n\nThe group will also hear from the LAX Coastal Ed Foundation about the new Art Show & Competition.
