Development, Design, and Construction Group - "Power of the Ports"

The LAX Coastal Chamber's Development, Design, and Construction Group is back for its next event! "Power of the Ports" will bring together architecture, engineering, and construction leaders that are looking to better understand capital program opportunities with both the Port of Los Angeles as well as the Port of Long Beach.

The Port of Los Angeles, also known as "America's Port", and the Port of Long Beach cover 68 miles of waterfront across the City of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The Port of LA is the nation's #1 container port in Western Hemisphere. In 2022, World Bank ranked the collective Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach as one of the most inefficient ports in the world citing lack of automation as one of the largest reasons. Despite this title, the collective ports are responsible for over $700 billion dollars of cargo being moved annually. Together, they are the nineth busiest port complex in the world. Infrastructure and capital improvements (2.6 billion in the port of Los Angeles) are being made to improve efficiency as well as sustainability.
