Food Pantry LAX is a non-profit organization that has been providing free food for people in Inglewood, Westchester and the surrounding areas for 40 years. The pantry is run entirely by volunteers, so that the money spent goes towards food for clients and rent for the facility, not for salaries. They are now helping to feed about 600 people each week. Food Pantry LAX aims to provide each customer with enough groceries to last two days, including fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, bread, non-perishable items and, if available, fresh or frozen meat or fish. They also offer baby food, formula, diapers, feminine hygiene products, toiletries and pet food. They offer special bags for homeless clients containing food that does not require cooking or refrigeration.
