Join Meredith Yinger and Joel Vendette on Facebook Live on Friday, October 22, at 10 AM as they interview Emily Harvey, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice
Emily has worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice for nearly five years. While studying at Santa Clara University in Northern California, Emily discovered her passion for helping others. Her first step into the non-profit world began at Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative, where she worked directly with schools to bring Physical Education Classes to young girls, mothers and handicapped individuals. After finishing her time at Santa Clara University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Women & Gender Studies, Emily moved back to Southern California. Emily’s career flourished at the Muscular Dystrophy Association where she worked as a Fundraiser for three years. Emily loved working with the families that used the lifesaving services that MDA provided, which lead her to Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice. Emily loves working with the incredible kids and teens that attend the Club and sharing their stories with all of the amazing donors for the Club. Emily has gone from managing the Resource Development Department at the Club, to taking on the Executive Director, now CEO, role in the midst of COVID-19. Leading an organization through a global pandemic has been the biggest challenge to date, but certainly the most rewarding.
