Time Management…with a Twist
What your calendar may be saying about your priorities
Please MAKE TIME to join the Lifestyle Group for a special presentation, "Time Management...with a Twist" presented by Integrated Professional Coach, Martha Jeffers. Thursday, May 14, from 7:45 AM - 9:15 AM at the Chamber Offices.
See more details below.
While talking with an executive about a high-impact project with a targeted timeline, I found myself wondering how I would make the project fit with everything else on my plate. I felt busy—mentally negotiating what deserved my attention and what might fall away.
In that moment, I realized something important: being “busy” often means we’re focused on the 80 percent of activities that fill our calendars but don’t necessarily move us forward exponentially. To focus on the 20 percent that truly mattered, I had to let go of meetings, activities, and minutiae that simply took up space. Those tough choices created the freedom to focus on work that ultimately became a springboard to greater growth, fulfillment, and visibility.
In today’s professional culture, “busy” has become a badge of honor. Yet constant activity rarely guarantees meaningful progress or impact.
This interactive 45-minute session challenges participants to rethink their relationship with time and examine the difference between being busy and being intentional. Through guided reflection and practical tools, participants will discover how their calendars often reveal more about their true priorities than their stated goals.
Participants will explore a powerful question: If someone reviewed your calendar for the next 30 days, what would they conclude matters most to you?
Attendees will leave with:
• A simple calendar audit to identify where their time is going—and whether it aligns with their priorities
• Clear language for setting boundaries and responding to requests without defaulting to “I’m busy” or overcommitting
• A practical decision filter to confidently determine what deserves a “yes” on their calendar—and what doesn’t
Rather than simply managing time, participants will learn how to lead their time with intention, aligning their schedules with what matters most and creating space for greater focus, impact, and fulfillment.
