This year, St. Bernard will be honoring:
LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce
Serving the communities of Westchester, Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, Playa del Rey, Del Rey and surrounding areas, the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce promotes local business and enhances the vitality of community member services, educational programs, strategic partnerships community outreach, and legislative advocacy. Since 1953, the Chamber has tirelessly collaborated with government leaders in order to solve problems, address quality of life issues and connect businesses with each other, keenly aware of balancing what is good for the local economy with what is good for local residents.
LAX Coastal Education Foundation
A non-profit organization dedicated to positively impacting the local education community in Westchester, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, and Marina del Rey, the LAX Coastal Education Foundation goal is to support and promote local schools through community outreach, partnerships, recognition and information dissemination. Through leadership efforts in fundraising and creating strategic partnerships with educators, families, local government and the business community, the Foundation works to strengthen all local - public, charter, private, Parochial - schools.
Dr. Kevin Baxter
Appointed Senior Director and Superintendent of Catholic Schools in 2015, Dr. Kevin Baxter is responsible for coordinating and implementing the vision for growth for Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. With degrees from Villanova University, Loyola Marymount, and USC, Baxter has taught at and served as principal at numerous schools in the Los Angeles area. Also an author and faculty member at LMU, Baxter lives in Hermosa Beach with his wife Kim and their six children.
