About Us
The Western Los Angeles County Council, Boy Scouts of America (WLACC) partners with more than 300 community organizations and consists of 2,000 registered adult volunteers who serve nearly 5,000 youth members and sees more than 15,000 youth come through camp properties annually. The Council is comprised of five districts that span an area that encompasses 65% of Los Angeles County. The area covered is from Marina del Rey to Edwards Air Force Base and from the Ventura County line to Burbank including the Antelope, Santa Clarita, and San Fernando Valleys.
Our vision is: A world in which people make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime.
We seek to accomplish our vision through our mission: WLACC supports individuals, families, and community organizations by providing values-based recreational and educational programs and activities that develop young people of character as defined by the Scout Oath and Law.
Scouting provides a unique blend of outdoor experiences, community service opportunities, and other educational and extracurricular activities that provides a space for Scouts to learn to make ethical choices and hone their leadership skills. The Scouting program is delivered through our partner community organizations, called Chartered Organizations, which can be schools, local religious institutions, service clubs, and other community groups that aid in the recruitment of volunteers and often provide meeting spaces as well. In addition, WLACC provides training, programs, and camp facilities where youth are challenged to grow physically and mentally.
